【A 71.26 ct yellow diamond has been found in Canada.】

Arctic Canadian, the country’s largest diamond producer by far, announced last week that a new 71.26 ct yellow diamond had been found in the Ekati mine, the diamond has a regular octahedral crystal shape and reaches the level of Fancy vivid Yellow. It is the largest colorful Yellow diamond ever found in Canada. The 71.26 CT Yellow Diamond was discovered on August 25 from Misery Rock in the Ekati mine, known for producing high-quality yellow diamonds. The diamond is expected to weigh nearly 30 ct after being cut and polished.

Arctic Canadian says the historic yellow diamond continues Canada’s role in global diamond mining and proves that the Ekati mine is capable of producing high-value diamonds. The mine, which began production in October 1998, is the country’s first open-pit and underground diamond mine. It is named “Ekati” after Tlicho, a native Dogrib language of Northwest Canada, means“Lake of fat sky”.
