Bonhams Hong Kong will auction a 7.07ct Burmese pigeon blood red ruby

On May 28th, a 7.07ct pillow shaped cut Burmese ruby will appear in Bonhams Hong Kong Jewelry Spring Auction. It has been identified by GRS, G ü belin, and SSEF as originating from the Mogu mining area in Myanmar and has reached the “Pigeon Blood Red” level, with a maximum valuation of HKD 8.8 million (approximately $1.12 million).

This 7.07ct ruby was set in the center of a platinum and gold ring in 2012. The main stone is surrounded by 8 oval cut diamonds with a total weight of 6.01ct, all of which reach a bright D-color level, like petals to highlight the bright red tone of the main stone.

This auction includes multiple high-quality ruby pieces, and you can see a ruby necklace set with a 23.45ct pillow shaped cut Burmese ruby, valued at HKD 8 million; A pair of ruby earrings set with round, oval, and pillow shaped Burmese “dove blood red” rubies, valued at HKD 3.5 million; And a ruby bracelet set with 15 oval and pillow shaped rubies, with a total weight of 20.70ct and a maximum valuation of HKD 2.5 million.

Valuation: HKD 6.8-8.8 million

The total weight of the inlaid ruby is 22.52ct. It has been identified by SSEF as produced in Myanmar and has not undergone heating treatment. Most of the rubies reach the “pigeon blood red” level. The total weight of the diamond inlay is approximately 22.75ct.

Lot 655 Ruby Bracelet

Valuation: HKD 1.5-25 million

The total weight of the inlaid ruby is 20.70ct. It has been identified by G ü belin as produced in Myanmar and has not undergone heating treatment. Some rubies are of the “pigeon blood red” grade. The total weight of the diamond inlay is approximately 9.10ct.
