Jewelry Cartier Launches the Tressage Collection: Gem Vitality
Cartier has just launched a new season of the “Libre” series – “Message”, inspired by the collection and design aesthetics of the brand’s first female creative director, Jeanne Toussaint. The new work consists of rings and bracelets, cleverly crafted with gold bead decoration, gemstone cutting, and complex inlay techniques to create a striking and vibrant jewelry style.
The new work presents a total of three main design elements, and “Golden Ball Craft” reinterprets the rolling ball element of the brand’s 1999 Paris Novelle Vague jewelry series. The new work handmade over 100 gold beads on the ring or bracelet surface, each of which is meticulously polished on the mirror surface, showcasing a delicate touch and sparkling golden light.
The “Tension of Gems” cuts the gem material into a lively streamline shape, aiming to break through the boundary of visual appearance – you can see that the Obsidian customized and cut with curved surface has a unique sculptural dynamic feeling under the outline of the diamond thin chain, and gold shapes the spiral pattern like cotton candy. Each work is full of tension, as if it has the power of self growth.
‘Color Collision’ pays tribute to Jeanne Toussaint’s color aesthetics by pairing red coral, rose gold, and diamonds. The designer uses custom cut coral and rose gold to create a woven effect ‘twisted rope’ pattern, with a three-dimensional rose gold surface densely inlaid with diamonds. The complex structure and inlay process are impressive.
